I would also like to share a very big thank you for helping me reach my 3rd year milestone of being open at Blackheath. I can’t thank you all enough for all the support over the years. Here’s to another year of seeing regular faces and meeting new ones. The community grows every week which truly is fantastic to see.
Florence Drewitt (Blackheath Farm) won a silver medal this weekend (19/20 July 2025) competing as a member of the British Eventing Team at the European Championships at Le Mans. She was riding an 8yr old pony on which you will see her in the village and on Blackheath. Well done Florence from everyone in Blackheath Village.
The Blackheath Village Society are pleased to report that the net proceeds from this year's fair held on the May Day Bank Holiday amounts to £7,600.00.
We have already allocated the following donations to these local charities and organisations from the net proceeds:
St Augustine’s Abbey £500
Wonersh and Shamley Green School £500
Wonersh Scouts £100
The Cricket Club £500
The Village Hall £500
St Martin's Church £200
A separate BVS Finance Committee has been established to receive presentations for the submission for projects that will benefit the local community.
